EditPurpose
To create a New Work Order for
"Research" using an existing case in LegalSuite.

EditNew Work Order
Make the menu selection from the Navigation Bar:
Orders ⇒ New Work Order. You will see the following screen:
 New Work Order - Values have already been entered. |
An asterisk (*) means a value is required for that field.
a. Customer #: * Type in a customer number. If you do not know it, click on the search icon to view the list of customers in the LegalSuite database. Click on a customer number and the Customer # field will update automatically with that number. The case list will also be updated to display all the cases in LegalSuite for this customer.
Note: The customer must already exist in the LegalSuite database; you can verify under Customer Maintenance. If it does not, you must first create the customer in Customer Maintenance before continuing.
b. Job Type: * Select the type of job for this new work order, in this case Research.
c. Service Level: * Select the level of service to indicate the level of urgency that the order must be completed.
d. Case #: * Type in the case number if you know it or select one from the Case List. Click on a case number and the Case # field will update automatically.
e. Notes: Type in any important notes in the text box regarding this work order request.
f. Click on the CONTINUE button - this brings up the Work Order Details screen.
EditWork Order Details - Existing Case
This work order request is for an existing case. You can view customer and case information that you've already entered at the top of the page. The bottom of the page contains tabs of information that you must also fill in for this work order request.

EditResearch Info Tab
Specify court information where reasearch is to be done.
 Specify documents for the work order request. |
a.
Court Code: Enter a court code for the court where research is to be done. If the code is valid, the input fields Court, Court Type, State, County, and Jurisdiction, will autmatically be filled in.

Copy This Case #: This is automatically filled in with the existing case that you specified as part of the work order request. You can edit if necessary.
c.
Jurisdiction: * Select the jurisdiction for this court.
d.
Plaintiff: This is automatically filled in with the plaintiff for the case you specified as part of the work order request. You can edit if necessary.
e.
Defendant: This is automatically filled in with the defendant's name for the case you specified as part of the work order request. You can edit if necessary.
f.
Items to Obtain: Select the checkboxes that apply for this work order:
Entire File - Obtain all documents that are part of the file.
Registrar of Action - Obtain the Registrar of Action form.
Cetain Documents - Obtain the documents specified under the Special Instructions tab.
k. Indicate the type of copies you want, plain or certified (not both).
l. Limit to Copy - Enter the number of copies needed.
EditSpecial Details Tab
Enter any special instructions for this work order.

a. Date Needed: Enter the date the copied files are needed.
b. Special Instructions: Enter any special instructions, for example specific documents to obtain, for this work order.
EditCompleting the New Work Order
Click on the
COMPLETE ORDER button on the Work Order Details page.

The new work order request for
Research has been entered successfully. Note the new Order Number at the top of the page.
You can print this work order by selecting a printer from the drop down menu and clicking on the
PRINT button.
