Purpose

To import customer data into LegalSuite so that you do not have to create entries manually.

Overview

Through this menu selection, you have the ability to upload customer data to create customer entries into the LegalSuite database rather than creating each entry manually. Make the menu selection Administration⇒Utilities⇒Customer Import from the navigation bar.

Customer Import


1. Upload - Enter the name of the file that contains the list of customer information that you wish to upload into the LegalSuite database. Or click on the Browse button to bring up the file selection menu. You can browse the files on your computer and select the file to upload.

The file must be in Microsoft Excel (.xls) format. Each customer is defined by a set of data; the data includes the company name, contact information, data needed for order processing (such as tax codes, discounts, price groups, etc.), and credit and billing information.

2. UPLOAD Button - Click on the UPLOAD button to upload the file into LegalSuite.

3. SAVE Button - Click on the SAVE button to import the data into the LegalSuite database. When the Excel file is imported, the data will be used to create a customer entries in the LegalSuite database for each customer in the file.

To see a list of customers currently in the LegalSuite database, make the menu selection Customers⇒Customer Maintenance from the navigation bar.
