EditPurpose
To define attempt codes that users and contractors (affiliates) can use when updating an order.

EditOverView
Attempt codes are used as status updates for work orders that are being processed. You can define the code, what types of work orders it applies to, and what the status of the work order will be when this attempt code is applied to the work order.
EditView Attempt Codes
To view a list of attempt codes currently defined in LegalSuite, make the menu selection
Administration⇒System Codes⇒Attempt Codes on the navigation bar.

To view information regarding a specific attempt code, click on a code on the list. The Attempt Code Details page will appear with details regarding that code. Refer to the section on
"Add a New Attempt Code" for an explanation of each field displayed on that page.
EditAdd a New Attempt Code
To add a new attempt code, click on the
ADD NEW ENTRY button on the Attempt Codes page.

All required input fields are indicated by an asterisk "*".
1. Product* - Check the boxes to indicate what type of work order product this attempt code is for.
2. Job Status - Select a job status from the pull-down menu that will be assigned to a work order with this attempt code, for example Cancelled, Closed, Completed, Dispatched, etc.
3. Type - Select a type from the pull-down menu to describe the type of attempt that was made, for example Case Searched, Copies Obtained, Credit Hold, etc.
4. Note* - Type in the attempt code.
5. Additional Notes - Type a brief description of the code.
6. Select the appropriate boxes:
Print Completed - If checked, the order is marked complete and ready to bill.
Print On Proof - If checked, the status will print on the Proof of Service or Affidavit.
Email on Status Change - If checked, the customer will receive notice via email.
These can checkboxes changed during the status update process.
7. Click the SAVE button to save the new attempt code. Click on the CANCEL button to discard your changes.
EditEdit an Existing Attempt Code
1. Select an attempt code to edit.
There are two ways in which you can select an attempt code:
- From the Attempt Codes page - if you are viewing the list of attempt codes, click on the "Edit" link for that attempt code.
- From the Attempt Code Details page - if you are viewing the details for an attempt code, click on the EDIT DETAILS button on that page.
The Attempt Code Details page will appear.
2. Make changes as necessary. Refer to the section "Add an Attempt Code" for an explanation of each of the input fields.
3. Click on the SAVE button to save your changes. Click on the CANCEL button to discard your changes.

Edit Delete an Attempt Code
1. Select an attempt code to delete. Refer to the section "Edit an Attempt Code" on how to select a code.
2. The Attempt Code Details page will appear. Scroll to the bottom of the page.
3. Click on the DELETE button to remove the attempt code from the LegalSuite database.
4. You will be asked to confirm that you wish to delete the code. Click on "OK".
5. The code will be deleted from the LegalSuite Database. It will no longer be seen on the Attempt Codes page.
