The print engine for the Suites programs are controlled by a few different programs.

Local Printing

1. The Print Maintenance feature under utilities. This program will show all printers installed on the server, network or otherwise. In here you can choose what the default printer is for each print application, for example Order printing. Other types of printers can also be selected in this programs. For example if you wish to have the ability to email or print to screen. Anotehr important feature it the ability to hide system printers, like Adobe PDF.

2. When a job is printed it creates a PDF in the final resting place. This is located in the subsystem: /files/companyid/documents/printjobtype/printidnumber.pdf.

It is also copied to the print folder. This is located in the subsystem: /files/companyid/printers/printjobtype/printidnumber.pdf.

The purpose of this is to have the print job pdf located in the document management system for recall later. When the document is copied to the printers folders, it is picked up by the Suites Printer Service installed on the server. Once printed it will delete the file. The service must be running in order to print. This service also requires installation of Adobe Acrobat reader 7.0 or 8.0 and PDF Multi Print. An error log is generated in the software for any print issues.

3. When printing from a program, simple let the default selected printer do it's job or over ride it.

Remote Printing

1. Remote Printing requires FTP service, the Suite Printer Service, Adobe Acrobat, and the PDF Multi Print installed on a PC at the remote facility.

2. If your company uses 1 remote facility or your system is hosted, you can setup the ftp connection settings in Company Setup (Administrator only).

3. If your company uses multiple locations, it would be best to fill in the ftp print information under Branch Maintenance.

4. When using this option, go into Printer Maintenance and select which printers will be listed under each program (and the default). Branch Printers have the Branch name in the path.

5. When printing from a program, simple let the default selected printer do it's job or over ride it.

6. Priting can further be tailored by putting an xml file in each folder, for example orders, this allows a specific types of print jobs to print to different printers.
